Gridlock Generals
Gridlock Generals is a turn-based tactics game on a grid, made for the browser. Pick a commanding officer, build an army from factories, airports and ports, capture cities for funds, and break the enemy line or take their HQ. Every rule is visible: move ranges, attack ranges, the damage you will deal and take, before you commit.
What's in it
- A 12-mission campaign with briefings, objectives and a rank for each win
- The Daily: one new generated map a day, the same for everyone, against the Hard AI, with a result line to share
- Online play with a friend by room code or invite link, plus hotseat on one device and play by link
- A map editor, and a random map generator with fairness checks
- 6 COs, each with a passive and a power
- 17 units on land, in the air and at sea
- Weather (snow, rain, sandstorms, moving fronts) and fog of war
- Two AI levels, Normal and Hard
- Battle cut-ins, original pixel art and music
- Autosave and resume
Free, no ads, no account, no download.
Good to know
- Progress (saves, campaign, records, settings) is stored in this browser only. Playing here and on gridlockgenerals.com keeps two separate progresses, and clearing site data or playing in a private window starts fresh.
- Online games run on the same room service as gridlockgenerals.com: an invite link you copy here opens the game there, and your friend can join from either place.
- The game sends a few anonymous facts about each game (mode, map, COs, result) to help balance it; no names, no IP, nothing that identifies you. You can switch it off in Settings. Privacy: https://gridlockgenerals.com/privacy.html
- Works with mouse, keyboard (press ? in a battle for the shortcuts) or touch. Use the fullscreen button for the biggest map.

This is an awesome yet confusing game I played. I love the art, I love the little characters, I love the concept, and I love everything about the game. I am however confused because I could not win a single match. I failed the first level, against the AI I lost, and I also lost on the daily challenge. So if you could honestly give me some advice on how to survive each match, that would be perfect. Other than that, I have no suggestion for you. And just so you are aware, I recorded this game for my youtube channel so if you want I can send you the link to the YouTube video.
Thanks for your feedback and I am glad you played it, feel free to share on youtube.
Interesting input about balance, might need to add an easy mode och a tutorial. The daily is always Hard.
Read more about units strengths if not already and play it like chess, you want to bait and strike when AI gard is low.
Also there is some exploits that I haven't fixed such as AI not shielding bases and too risk averse.
Thanks again! That's my first game and wasn't expected so quick review :-)
